August at QNEST
August may be quieter, but QNEST certainly isn’t.
I’ve been spending a lot of time talking with state representatives and senators, housing experts, and Community Development Corporations, trying to figure out how we can make our first home a reality. We’re also working to build our fundraising network and connect with corporations and ERGs that want to support LGBTQIA+ youth.
We’re continuing our Peer Support Groups, and recently had a wonderful workshop with Esther Morris Leidolf on the intersex community, a topic that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough, and one our participants left with a lot to think about.
There’s still a lot to do. We need awareness, we need volunteers, and we need funding. If you know a company with an ERG, a housing expert, or just someone who cares about LGBTQIA+ youth – please connect us.
And if you’d like to support QNEST directly, you can find us on Venmo (@QNEST) or at qnest.org/donate(opens in new tab).
We’re not there yet, but we’re working on it every day.
